Ben and I again at the Broncos/Raiders game. We've come to the conclusion that we are bad luck. This is the second game we've been to where the Avs or Broncos have lost to one of the worst teams in the league. ugh. We are close to suiting Ben up.....

Halloween Weekend

Ben & Jack had a great Halloween. Ben was Bobofet and Jack was Tigger. I'll add pictures soon. They got way too much candy but I guess that's the point of Halloween.

We are having a hell of time getting Jack potty trained. He is one stubborn little boy. Fortunately, we are getting close. I say he'll be out of diapers in 2 weeks max. Please let me be right!!!

Ben had his flag football playoffs this past weekend. He had a great 2 games. In the semi-finals he ran all over the place. He'd take the ball to one side, reverse the field, bring it back, reverse it again, zig zag 5 times and score. It was a lot of fun to watch. The championship game was really close. Ben's team lead 14-6 with 7 mins to go but the other team tied it up with 2 minutes left and they ended in a tie. Ben was ecstatic with the tie and everyone was happy.

I also was able to take Ben to an Av's game on Thursday night. We had a great time even though the Av's lost.

Ben and Jack

Another weekend of sports, sports, and more sports. It was the end to Ben's soccer season. They went undefeated again. Likely to move up next year and play the 8 year olds. Ben did very well with 5G and 2A. Then he had flag football on Sunday and they beat the first place team 28-20. Ben played amazingly well. He threw 2 deep touchdowns, ran for 2 more, and converted a 2 point converstion. Pretty impressive little man.. But what's more impressive is his reading. We ask him to read 20 minutes a day to help with his reading abilities and the guy never wants to put down a book. He's even reading in the car! Obviously, this trait comes from his mother.

Jack is starting his soccer practice and ice skating today. Should be exciting to hear how it goes. He had on his little shin gaurds this morning and was ready to go.

Good times

My B-Day

It was my birthday over the weekend and I had a great time. Not because of any amazing dinner I had or some crazy birthday party I was thrown, but because I was hanging with my family. Now Bingo of Friday night was definitely pushing it but the kids had fun and that's what matters.

Ben played an amazing soccer game on Saturday. Jack was really excited to give me my present, which was a very cool CU Lamp. Then Sunday we went to Mom's and had a great dinner.

It was a great weekend. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

The Weekend

Minus the Buff game it was a banner weekend for the Smith Family. Jack is a lot of fun, a handful but still a great little guy. He has a great slap shot and hasn't tried to hit Ben with the stick for a few weeks. He sat with me on the couch for a few minutes and I loved it. I would be in big trouble if I had a little girl. Ben's soccer game was a lot of fun. He's becoming a very strong player. He controlled the ball all game and did pretty much anything he wanted to do. I think he ended up with 5G and 1 A. No football this week, he went to a birthday party instead.

Ben's Flag Football Experience

Well, Ben played his 2nd flag football game on Sunday and it went very well. His team, the Colts, won the game 20-0 and Ben was a part of all 3 scores. He caught 2 passes for TD's and threw the third TD. He had a great time and really enjoyed describing each one of his scores for me.

Ben: "Dad, did you see that! I caught the ball, spun by the first guy, cut inside ran past that other guy, then cut back outside for the touchdown. Did you see that!!"

2nd TD:

Ben: "Dad, did you see me catch the ball while being surrounded by 3 of their guys, then running 50 yards after for the score!!!"

3rd TD Pass:

Ben: "Dad, did you see that pass!! This is awesome!!!

It was a good day and all the parents were impressed with the 6 year old beating up on the 9 year olds.

But most importantly, Ben had fun.

My First Blog

Hi,

The purpose of this site is to track the crazy and wonderful lives of Scott, Katie, Ben and Jack Smith (primarily Ben & Jack). Scott & Katie might add some excitement at some point but don't bet on it. My boys, Ben & Jack, are running around like madmen and I feel like I'm missing or forgetting important aspects of their lives. So capturing things to look back on is important to me and I hope this is the answer I've been looking for. I hope all that visit here enjoy what they see.

Have a great day!

Scott
