Vail Soccer Tourney

We had a great weekend in Vail. The weather was perfect and the soccer was exciting. Ben's team won the tourney but it wasn't easy. They were the #1 seed heading into Sunday but their semi-final game was not easy. They played a team from Mexico and were down 4-1 after the first half. They came back to tie it up and Ben won the game with 2 seconds to play!! (very stressfull) So on to the finals. We played the Hail Storm and they have a player, Danny #10, who is very good. We actually tied them in our first game with them. So again we start off slow and are down 3-0 early. we slowly come back and are down 4-3 with a minute to go. After hitting a post or two there are 10 secs remaining and again Ben hits the post, this time Joe was there for the rebound and tied it up. Overtime. It wasn't looking very good as #10 had 2 shots on goal. Ben stopped one and the other went wide. Then after about a minute in to overtime Ben stole the ball from their sweeper, dribbled down and scored the winning goal to win the tournament!!!! All the players jumped on Ben and everyone was screaming and cheering for the team. My favorite part was when Ben came up to me, hugged me, and started crying in my arms. Very cool moment that I won't forget for a long time.

Jack is Potty Trained!!!

THANK GOD!!! Jack is finally potty trained. It was a difficult couple of months but all is well. Congrats to Katie for being so patient. All is well in the world!!

Guilty

I feel a little guilty because I posted for Jack's birthday and not Ben's. So HAPPY BIRTHDAY Ben!! His birthday was Feb. 27th. He's 7 now. I can't believe he's 7. He's just a great kid. He took a bunch of friends to the movies to see Pink Panther. I think I feel asleep during the show but I know they had fun.

Jack's Birthday!!

HAPPY 4th BIRTHDAY JACKSON TRIPP SMITH!!!!

Jack had his birthday party yesterday at Pump It Up. He and two other boys in the neighborhood got together and invited a total of 36 Four year olds to the party. All I can say is madness. The Mom's are much better at handling the chaos than the Dad's. Overall, it was a great time. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Jack got an ice cream cake and way too many toys. I'll add pictures as soon as I download them. We are headed to Red Robin tonight so Jack can get a sundae on his birthday. All is well in the world.

Life

The boys are fantastic. Sometimes they are a pain in the butt but overall they are just great kids. We play this game in the car where a person picks a letter and everyone has to guess what the word is. Jack's letter was vrrrrrooooommm and the word is hockey game or soccer game or something that has absolutely nothing to do with vrrrroooooommmmm. It's hilarious!

Katie is a great Mom. Dealing with all the acitivities of these guys isn't easy but she gets through it all with flying colors.

Only negative is this economy. Hopefully, things will change in the next 6 months. Keep your fingers crossed!

Funny thing last I heard from the kids last night. Jack was at lunch and another kid farted and jack couldn't handle the smell so he went to the bathroom and basically threw up. Funny stuff!

The Holidays

Well, The Smith Family had a fantastic Xmas. Santa brought Ben Rock Band for the Wii and a couple of video games. He brought jack a helicopter, a bulldozer, and an ice cream cone set. The grandparents went overboard again with gifts and all was good in the world. I'll update with pictures as soon as possible.
